The Use of Logistics Transportation
Logistics transportation refers to the shipping of products from between manufacturers, warehouses and retail centers. Goods cannot just be transported at any time by truck drivers without some planning involved. Otherwise, so much money would be wasted in lost time and gas that it would be fruitless. Without logistics transportation, a truck might make a delivery from Tennessee to Georgia, and then return to Tennessee only to find out that he has to pass through Georgia again on a trip to Florida. These shipments obviously could have occurred in one trip. This is a simplified example of logistics transportation, but the point remains the same. A great deal of thought must be put into every shipment and transaction to avoid back tracking and wasting time and money. The people behind logistics transportation work to ensure the best efficiency in transportation and distribution.
