Logistics or Supply Chain Professional?

What Exactly is Logistics?

Logistics

Logistics, in its most simple definition, is the ability to have the right thing in the right place at the right time. Logistics involves the transportation and distribution of products all over the world. Distributions must be choreographed much like a dance to make sure that transporters get the correct products to the correct locations during the allotted time. There is a certain backstage element to the transporting scene that deals with the logistics of distribution. There are managers, engineers, specialists and many more people who work to ensure the proper delivery of goods. Transportation routes must be planned efficiently so that as little time and gas is used as possible. Logistics is the process involved in making sure that proper and timely distribution takes place between manufacturers, storage warehouses and retail centers.
